Sony Ericsson launches camera photo competition
World View 2008 is Sony Ericsson’s third consecutive mobile phone photography competition, but this year the company is making it a little bit different with the introduction of a blog partnership programme.

Anyone, from anywhere in the world can enter photographs in the competition, as long as they are taken with their mobile phone.

Sony Ericsson is now inviting bloggers to apply to become a partner in the competition by emailing their name, blog title and URL to sonyericsson@wolfstarconsultancy.com .

Blog partners will be able to display a widget on their site proclaiming their status as partner, and displaying rotating photographs that have been entered into the competition.

Blog partners also have the chance to win a holiday worth up to £3,000 in a special competition, with the winning blog being the one that drives the highest number of entries to the World View website.

The blog partnership scheme runs from September 22nd until the World View competition closes on 31st October 2008.

Merran Wrigley, Corporate Vice President and Head of External Relations said: “This competition helps to unite the mobile camera phone community and photography enthusiasts and we want people to shout loud and proud about their finest photographs. The standard of entries has always been high and we expect this years’ to be even better. ”

The competition will be judged by London photographer of the year, Tony Briggs; chief of photography UK and Ireland at Reuters, David Viggers, renowned Chinese photographer Liu Heung Shing, and senior designer at Sony Ericsson Martin Wezowski.

The judges’ choice winner will receive a holiday to one of five destinations, worth around £10,000.

There will also be a global People’s Choice winner, who will receive a holiday to the value of around £5,000.

The People’s Choice winner will be decided by combining the number of votes a photo receives with the number of times it has been viewed.
