Clippz, a UK-based company with headquarters in Bridgend, South Wales, is enabling over 600,000 users in India to enjoy free mobile videos
Clippz is the first service in the world to allow mobile phone users to watch video clips on their handsets for free.
It has now successfully established itself in the Indian mobile video market, and is proving particularly popular with male users, which make up 93% of its user base.
The Indian market has quickly become the company’s single largest consumer of content.
Users can preview, and download video clips from website www.clippz.com to their PC, and then transfer the clips to a mobile phone in an optimised format, free of charge.
Philip John, Founder and CEO of Clippz said: “It seems like there is an insatiable demand for mobile videos in India. None of the mobile operators here can deliver as many videos as we do. With the 3G spectrum now being open for auction, this is going to be great for web access on a mobile device, but it will not be necessary for mobile video. We already deliver video at better than 3G quality and it’s completely free”.
