The living room is one of my favorite place at home. It is the place not only for entertaining visitors but also at the end of the day, plop down on a comfortable sofa, legs tucked in, a book on one hand and a mug on the other hand. Even now as I write this, a picture of my ideal living room comes to life. Three main things are considered: the windows, flooring and the sofa. I choose these three because the ceiling and the walling would entirely follow my flooring and windows. I imagine a high ceiling room with tall windows. The windows look out to a view for relaxation. The sun streams in giving the room a natural brightness. A soft breeze is allowed in providing freshness. These are good designs.
The flooring is made of dark wood planks giving the room a richness and cozy ambiance. I like wood panels over parquet as it is easier to install and the design gives a warm atmosphere.
The sofa allows me to spend hours relaxing on it. The best sofa I would pick is structured such that sitting and getting up is easy. It should support my weight and other people I bond with. The legs should be part of the frame giving it a solid structure. I would personally choose a sofa with the best quality of foam, resilient with time. There are many disadvantages to springs as they tend to be uncomfortable but a hand tied spring makes the padding resilient. And since I would be sitting and sleeping in my sofa, the sofa is made of a soft fabric, easy to clean and not rough and irritating to the skin. Here are my choices.
